CVYS Executive Director Opening

The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony (CVYS) in Eau Claire, Wisconsin has an immediate opening for Executive Director. This one year position is for the 2022-2023 schoolyear, with the possibility of additional years upon the completion of successful annual reviews. CVYS Executive Director duties include:

(1.) Beginning season responsibilities such as advertise the upcoming season, correspond with Music Director, set up and facilitate auditions, process musician applications and fees, secure rehearsal space and concert venues and communicate with musicians and parents/guardians.

(2.) In season obligations such as create and maintain an engaging CVYS website, maintain social media presence on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, facilitate communication with Music Director, musicians and their families, coordinate, promote and attend all CVYS concerts, offer CVYS merchandise for purchase, solicit advertisers and design ads in concert program, design and distribute posters for concerts, and arrange and attend CVYS fundraisers.

(3.) End of season requirements such as prepare for finale, prepare and publish senior CVYS musicians biographies and debrief CVYS Board regarding the season.

(4.) General responsibilities such as collaborate with Music Director to plan and attend the annual CVYS Concerto Competition, make public appearances on behalf of CVYS as approved by the CVYS Board, provide outreach and recruitment opportunities for youth musicians, collaborate with other musicians, school music directors, music groups and dance companies to promote CVYS, attend board meetings and communicate with board members regularly in a prompt, professional manner.

The position runs from August 2022 through May 2023. The number of hours per week fluctuates depending on the responsibilities of a particular calendar month—pre, during or post season. Work hours per week will average 10.
